Kai Havertz scored an 86th-minute winner as Arsenal moved to the top of the English Premier League (EPL) with a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday.
The win is Arsenal’s eighth consecutive league victory as the North London side continues to dominate their opponents.
Declan Rice put Arsenal in front on 19 minutes when he rose highest to plant a header into the net from Ben White’s inch-perfect cross.
Unable to double their lead, the Gunners conceded at the other end following an error from Aaron Ramsdale four minutes into first-half injury time. The goalkeeper dallied on the ball and his hurried clearance hit a sliding Yan Wissa and looped into the net.

Mikel Arteta’s men however continued to dominate the game in search of the winner, and it eventually came four minutes from the end through Havertz’s header from another brilliant cross from White.
Arsenal moved to 64 points from 28 matches, one point ahead of Liverpool who have played a match less. It is the first time the Gunners have topped the table since Christmas Day as the three-team title race hots up.
Earlier in the day, Manchester United required two penalties to overcome Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes tucked away from the penalty spot as United returned to winning ways.
