Kevin de Bruyne scored a late leveller as Manchester City held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Anfield on Sunday.
Man City dominated the first half and had the best opportunity to take the lead, but Alisson Becker, Liverpool goalkeeper, denied Phil Foden as Pep Guardiola’s men caged their hosts into a defensive position throughout the half.
The encounter came to life just before the hour mark as Jurgen Klopp’s men took the lead on 59 minutes when Mohamed Salah crossed for Sadio Mane to curl beyond Ederson Moraes.
The lead however lasted only 11 minutes as City equalised through Foden, who smashed a shot beyond Alisson.

In an end-to-end affair, Liverpool regained the lead through a well-crafted Salah strike on 76 minutes. The Egyptian forward weaved past a couple of challenges on the edge of the box before hitting an angled shot towards the bottom corner.
De Bruyne then added another twist to the encounter with a curling shot that deflected off Joel Matip.
Liverpool return to second place on 15 points, one point behind Chelsea at the top.
