Samuel Eto’o has agreed a lucrative two-and-a-half year deal with Italian side Sampdoria bringing an end to a brief spell with Everton that only began in August.
The former Cameroon striker had not featured for Everton since the end of December as a move away from the club, which he only joined last summer, became increasingly likely.
He scored three goals in 14 Barclays Premier League games for the Toffees, but had not featured since the 3-2 defeat at Newcastle United on December 28.
Sampdoria have been one of the best teams in Italy this season and currently sit fourth in Serie A, level on points with third-placed Napoli.

Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic spoke about the transfer.
“He’s a great player, who has won everything, and that attracts a lot of attention from the media, but this should not distract us,” he said.
“The reason we are third is thanks to these guys, their commitment and their daily work.”

Eto’o is expected to be presented to the fans ahead of Sampdoria’s clash with Palermo on Sunday.
