Chika Ikenga, group managing director of Eunisell Limited, says the company hopes to ensure that stadiums in Nigeria record high number of spectators like those in Europe.
Speaking at the second edition of the Eunisell boot awards ceremony which held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, Ikenga said he hoped that the target would be achieved in the next five years night.
At the event, Eunisell, a chemical specialty fluids and production solutions company, awarded N2 million each to two highest goal scorers in the 2018/19 season of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
The two top scorers in the league are Sunusi Ibrahim of Nasarawa United and Mfon Udoh of Akwa United.

At the end of the season, the duo had scored 10 goals each.
Junior Lokosa had won the maiden edition of the Eunisell boot award after scoring 19 goals for Kano Pillars.
Ikenga said the motive of the award is to promote local football and make it enjoyable for spectators.

“Football is entertaining, football brings us together in Nigeria. More than anything, football helps people in terms of being fit, it creates job. It provides opportunity for our young people to stay out of trouble. So we wanted to see how we can get involved, how we can help,” he said.
“We chose to reward the people in the front so that they can pull the other people. We would like to see in the next five years that our stadiums are as full as premier league stadiums. We are not going to do it alone, but we will do it with the rest of the society.
“We hope as we continue to provide this support, other people will get involved. We want people to get out there, get involved, get to the various stadiums, go there and enjoy themselves.”
The players appreciated the award and thanked the organisers for putting such measure in place to reward their efforts.
