Victor Osimhen scored twice in the first half to lead Galatasaray to a 3-2 win over ten-man Tottenham in their Europa League group stage encounter at the PAMS Park in Istanbul.
The 25-year-old scored twice in eight minutes for the unbeaten Turkish Superlig leaders, who handed Tottenham their first group phase loss.
The strikes extended Osimhen’s tally to six goals in his eight appearances so far for Galatasaray this season, and he assisted four more goals.
Both sides had traded goals earlier, with Yunus Akgun’s opener cancelled by Will Lankshear before Osimhen took centre stage.

He regained the lead for Galatasaray with a toe-poked finish from Dries Merteens’ threaded pass in the 31 minute before ghosting between two defenders to meet Merteens’ cross with a first-time finish to the bottom corner for 3-1 on 39 minutes.
The brace is Osimhen’s second since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, with the former Lille striker scoring or assisting in all but one of the eight matches he has featured in since joining Galatasaray.
Dominic Solanke reduced the deficit for Tottenham to ten men following Lankshear’s dismissal, but the home side held on to claim all three points.
