January, the first month of 2016, is over and it definitely seems that the month had its fair share of celebrity moments.
Six of them are worth remembering
DON JAZZY vs OLAMIDE
Every track was a hit back to back. Almost every Nigerian contemporary music lover is familiar with how this statement came into existence. Olamide Adedeji, Nigerian songwriter and rapper popularly tagged street favourite and better known as Olamide, became more famous after making the statement at the Headies award, which held on January 1.
The artiste made this statement while trying to express his displeasure at Mavin crew’s Reekado Banks winning the Next Rated act award while Lil Kesh, an artiste from his YBNL label, lost out.

The comment made social media platforms agog for days, as fans made various versions of the comment.
Don Jazzy, the Mavin crew CEO, did not leave without making his comments and fans were quick to take sides.
Business mogul Aliko Dangote was the peacemaker, and both artistes apologized to their fans.

Don Jazzy recently joked about Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, American rappers who got into a row recently, waiting for American business mogul Bill Gates to settle their disagreement.
WIZKID vs DAMMY KRANE
Copyright infringement was a major theme song in January and the first artiste to make the claim was Dammy Krane, popular Nigerian musician and he accused colleague Wizkid of the action.
At the initial stage, Wizkid ignored the accusations. The story changed when both artistes met at a party organized by Obafemi Martins, a Nigerian footballer, at Quilox club.
Both artistes got physical at the club; and bottles were smashed during the few minutes of chaos, but witnessed said the disagreement was settled in the manager’s office.

ICE PRINCE’S MINUTE HEARTBREAK
Panshak Zamani, Chocolate City rapper better known as Ice Prince, was eager to share his newfound love was forced, but he had to rethink his decision of dating Maima Nkewa.
This was due to rumours that his girlfriend was dating an Abuja businessman. Ice Prince, who first laughed off the rumours, was grieved when pictures of Nkewa and the Abuja businessman surfaced online.
The Oleku crooner took to his Twitter page to share his grievances and said he had never been lucky with women.
Few hours later, though, the couple settled their differences and were back together.

DAVIDO’S SONY DEAL
It will be remembered as a happy January for David Adedeji Adeleke, popular musician known as Davido to his fans.
Davido had spent the latter part of 2015 and the early part of 2016 in a battle with Sophie Momodu, his baby mama and cousin to Dele Momodu over custody of their daughter Imade Adeleke.

He was euphoric when he shared the news on Instagram about the $1 million deal with the record label.
Few days later, Sony Music Entertainment welcomed the artiste on board, stating that they were looking forward to working with him.

BLACKFACE vs WIZKID
Ayodeji Balogun, Nigerian Afropop singer and song writer popularly known as Wizkid, was caught up in another copyright infringement accusation.

And this time, a video was dedicated to the cause.
Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, former Plantashun Boyz member popularly known as Blackface, made these accusations on his Twitter page and in the video Killah that he just released.
Blackface expressed his displeasure and threatened to send Wizkid to the cemetery.
BLACKFACE vs TUFACE
Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, former Plantashun Boys member, also accused former group member Innocent Idibia, popularly called Tuface, of stealing his works and trying to destroy his crew.
Obiabo had earlier laid claim to Idibia’s hit song African Queen; this time, he claimed that Let Somebody Love You, a track in Idibia’s 2014 album ‘Ascension’, was his.
Threatening him with legal action, Obiabo also claimed that Idibia tried to kill the then active Plantashun Boyz
