Ex-AAC governorship candidate, PDP chieftains join APC in Zamfara

Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the 2023 governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Zamfara, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kabir-Sani and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced their defection on Saturday at the residence of Aminu Jaji in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital.

Jaji is the lawmaker representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal constituency of the state.

The defectors were welcomed into the APC under the Jajiyya political movement.

Speaking at the event, Kabir-Sani said he and his supporters decided to join the APC because of the “good representation and developmental strides” of Jaji in Zamfara.

On his part, Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, the representative of the PDP house of assembly candidates’ forum, said they decided to defect because APC is the strongest political party in the state.

“We had fruitful discussions with mutual understanding with Hon. Aminu Jaji, so we decided to join the APC, we will remain in the party for the development of our dear state,” NAN quoted Labbo-Anka as saying.

Welcoming the defectors, Jaji commended them for joining the APC, adding that it is a welcome development for the party.

The federal lawmaker assured the defectors of fair treatment and a good working relationship to enhance the capacity of the party.
