Ayodele Dorcas Fadairo (nee Salotun), the late retired assistant commissioner of police, has been buried.
Fadairo, widely known as “Aunty Ayo l’alagbon”, was laid to rest at the Ikoyi cemetery in Lagos on Friday.
Her tomb is adjacent to the premises of the force criminal and intelligence department (FCID) in Alagbon.
Her funeral service was attended by family members, serving and retired police officers, friends, and members of the Igbara-Oke community in Lagos.

Fadairo died on September 28, 2024, in Lagos.
WHO IS AUNTY AYO?
The late police officer was born on April 19, 1956, in Igbara-Oke town of Ondo state.

She joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in 1975 and retired in 2010 after 35 years of service.
She served in many stations in the Lagos police command, including FCID Alagbon.
The late ACP was well-known for her professionalism and dedication to the police force.
She became very popular after the late Orlando Owoh, a Nigerian highlife musician, mentioned her name in his “Experience” album which was released in 1988.

In the song, Owoh narrated his detention at FCID Alagbon and how he encountered “Aunty Ayo” while incarcerated.
In an interview published in 2010, the late police officer said when he met Owoh at the Alagbon station, she counselled him to stop the use of illicit drugs and that the substances would negatively affect his health.
