Yusuf Mamman, former Nigeria ambassador to Spain and ex-chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), has commended Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, for his “inclusive style of governance”.

He said the governor has replicated the concept of even development in every part of the state.

He compared Sani to Balarabe Musa, governor of Kaduna from 1979 to 1981, who “built a cottage industry in each of the then-14 local governments of Kaduna”.

Mamman said Sani has been executing projects across the state irrespective of party affiliations or ethno-religious considerations.

“The governor’s antecedents as a progressive and a pro-democracy activist have adequately prepared him to govern a diverse polity like Kaduna state,” he said.

“In particular, his community engagement and the all-inclusive governance style stand him out for commendation.

“His approach to inter-ethnic, inter and intra-faith relations is ushering in a new era of peace and harmony in Kaduna state.

“Additionally, Governor Uba Sani’s non-kinetic approach to security challenges facing our state is highly commendable. Armed groups and other non-state actors must be disarmed, demobilised and reintegrated into the society.”

Mamman implored all “well meaning people of the state to rally round the governor in his effort to recreate the cosmopolitan Kaduna state of the good old days”.

Last month, the governor signed the N790 billion 2025 budget into law.

Tagged ‘budget of sustaining transformation and inclusive development’, the appropriation law included N551,582,867, 194 for capital projects and N238,856,712,888.86 for recurrent expenditure.
