Ex-APC senators: Akume’s loyalty has helped Tinubu achieve his vision

108 former senators elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), say the loyalty of George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), has helped President Bola Tinubu achieve his vision for the country.

Basheer Lado, a former Kano senator and convener of the group, said this in a statement to mark Akume’s 70th birthday.

Lado said the SGF’s role as the “engine room” of the federal government has “been crucial in steering our collective efforts toward a brighter and more prosperous future”.

“Your illustrious journey from a dedicated civil servant to the highest echelons of political leadership reflects not only your exceptional capabilities but also your unwavering commitment to public service,” he said.

“As a former governor, senator, minister, and now secretary to the government of the federation, your expertise in administration has played a pivotal role in shaping the course of our nation’s progress.

“Your journey has been marked not only by professional accomplishments but by the profound simplicity and humility that define your character.

“Your ability to connect with people on a personal level has endeared you to the hearts of many, creating a lasting impact beyond the corridors of power.

“We would be remiss not to acknowledge your absolute loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which has been the cornerstone in the successful realization of the president’s vision.

“Your role as the engine room of the government has been crucial in steering our collective efforts toward a brighter and more prosperous future.”

Lado added that Akume has contributed significantly to the former senators forum.
