Ex-militant nabs suspected killers of soldiers in Bayelsa

Africanus Ukparasia, an ex-militant, and his task force have apprehended suspects who attacked and killed three soldiers at Tombi waterside in Nembe, Bayelsa state on August 8.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ukparasia said his task force, known as the “Bayelsa water ways security task force”, had already handed over to security agents, the suspects.

He warned militants to steer clear of the national, state and private assets located in the state, saying: “Criminals would no longer go about committing crimes unchallenged.”

While stating the resolve of his task force to go after any individual of group that engages in criminal activities, he warned that there was no room for criminals activities in the state.

Ukparasia, also known as general Africa was appointed by Seriake Dickson, the Bayelsa governor to combat militancy, pipeline vandalism, sea piracy and other criminal activities in the state.
