John David Dungs, former military governor of Delta who hailed from Plateau State, is dead.
Dubgs was said to have slumped on the way to the hospital from his residence at Rayfield in Jos .
Mr. Sunday Dungs, his younger brother, broke the news to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“Col. Dungs is late,” he said. “That is the only thing I can tell you for now.”

The ex-governor lost his father, Chief Dung Jok, the District Head of Riyom, Plateau State, only a week ago.
The body of his late father is still at the mortuary.
Dan Manjang, former Special Adviser on Media to governor Jonah Jang, described the death as shocking.

Dungs, who was Military Administrator of Delta from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha, ran unsuccessfully for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2007 governorship elections in Plateau.
Just yesterday, John Wash Pam, one-time deputy senate president and a native of Plateau, died.
