Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has asked business owners within the local government to pay N120,000 for disinfection of their facilities.

In a letter to operators of businesses, Yahaya Ahmed Kana, director of administration, AMAC, said it is compulsory for all public and private offices within the area to be disinfected before they reopen.

According to him, the directive was in line with the guidelines for the gradual easing of the lockdown in the federal capital territory (FCT).

“With reference to Presidential directive to ease the lockdown order in Lagos, Ogun and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday, 4th May 2020, it has become necessary and in fact compulsory for all public and private offices within Abuja Municipal Area Council to decontaminate/disinfect before re-occupation” the letter read.

“As a prelude to this, the council has engaged the services of a technical partner M/S Holmes Multi-media synergy Ltd that will urgently carry out the exercise at your own expense.

“While thanking you for the cooperation, kindly accept the assurance of the Hon. Chairman’s highest esteem regards.”

Attached to the letter was a GTB account number (0525284270) belonging to M/S Holmes Multimedia Synergy Ltd.

  1. Another pyramid scheme like fraud in the making?

How many businesses will contribute to this?

What manner of fumigation will be done.

  2. This corona virus has compulsorily injected itself into AMAC blood stream and officials are beginning to hallucinate. All businesses small, big and giant have been under lockdown for over a month. None has generated revenue to pay Bank loans, staff’s salaries or even cover our overheads. I advice AMAC to compulsorily fumigate all businesses freely as its palliatives to them for all businesses are already collapsing before corona virus stings.
