Mike Omeri, former director-general (DG) of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), was on Sunday picked as the campaign coordinator of Deji Adeyanju, new media director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member.
Adeyanju, who is contesting for the position of the party’s spokesman, made this announcement in a statement on Sunday.
“The Deji Adeyanju strategy team wishes to announce the appointment of Mr Mike Omeri as coordinator of his campaign for the office of PDP national publicity secretary,” he said.
“Mike Omeri is a former director-general of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and a two time commissioner for information in plateau and Nasarawa state. He is an influential north central leader of our party.

“We believe Omeri will bring his wealth of experience, direction and influence to our campaign towards electing Deji Adeyanju as the next national publicity secretary (NPS) of PDP.”
But hours after the statement was issued, Omeri took to social media to debunk it, saying: “I wish to dispel the claims of my purported role as DG Campaign for the Nat’l pub secretary of Pdp @ the convention in Port Harcourt.
“At this stage l belong to all eligible contenders that would seek my counsel. ”
