Salihu Tanko Yakasai, former media aide to the governor of Kano, has asked Shehu Sani, ex-Kaduna lawmaker, to employ him so that they can share notes on “life in detention”.
While the former media aide spent some time with the Department of State Services (DSS) over the weekend, Sani was in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), before he was arraigned in January 2020 for alleged bribery.
Yakasai was sacked by his principal on Saturday for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari. He was subsequently picked up by the secret police for investigation “over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media”.
On his part, Sani was arrested by the EFCC in December 2019 over allegations of extortion. He spent 30 days in detention before he was released.

The former Kaduna lawmaker had earlier lost his seat to Uba Sani, his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, in the February 23, 2019 national assembly election.
Yakasai, in a tweet on Wednesday, said the appointment would avail them an opportunity to share notes on “life in detention”.
“Good morning distinguished senator @ShehuSani. Give me appointment pls so we can share notes on ;life in detention’,” the former media aide wrote.
