The Borno state police command says it has arrested one Baba-Goni Mohammed Ibrahim, a repentant Boko Haram member, for stealing the wrappers of his employer.

The suspect was paraded before journalists on Friday by Abdu Umar, the state police commissioner.

Umar said Ibrahim was one of the 110 suspects paraded for committing various crimes including rape, kidnapping, robbery, and theft.

According to the commissioner, Ibrahim was arrested for stealing eight wrappers and some other apparel belonging to one Lami of Mashidmari who employed him as a home help.

The suspect, who repented from terrorism three years ago, told journalists that he stole the property as compensation for his alleged unpaid salary.

“She did not pay me for four months, that is why I took some of her wrappers in place of my outstanding payment,” Ibrahim said.

Umar said six of the suspects were arrested for rape, five for kidnapping, five for robbery, 29 for criminal conspiracy and theft, and 15 for culpable homicide.
