Eighty lawyers, including six Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), announced their appearance for Senate President Bukola Saraki at the Code Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Friday.
On March 11, 66 lawyers had announced their appearance for the senate president.
But on Friday, Kanu Agabi, Saraki’s lead counsel, reeled off 80 names.
Some of the senior lawyers, besides Agabi, who are representing the senate president in his trial for alleged false declaration of assets, are Saka Ishau (SAN), Mahmud Magaji (SAN) and KK Eleja(SAN).
Hearing of a motion to quash the charges against the senate president was in progress as of the time of filing this report.
