Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, has responded to an X post criticising Uba Sani, his successor.

On Tuesday, an X user with the name @IU_Wakilii, put up a post that said Sani has “changed Kaduna completely” since he assumed the reins.

The X user made the post alongside pictures of dump sites.

“They thought we were kidding when we said that in just a few months, Governor Uba Sani had changed Kaduna completely,” the post reads.

“This is the type of change we are getting from the best Governor in Nigeria.”

The X user described el-Rufai as his mentor on his bio.

Responding to the post, the former Kaduna governor posted a cryptic message that reads: “From God we all came, and to Him we shall all return”.

The relationship between el-Rufai and Sani has seemingly deteriorated in the last couple of months.

Sani had said the el-Rufai administration left huge debt and liabilities which has stymied governance in Kaduna.

Subsequently, the Kaduna house of assembly commenced a probe of the former governor.

There are also insinuations that el-Rufai fell out with President Bola Tinubu after the senate withheld the ex-governor’s confirmation as minister in August 2023.

BASHIR AIMS DIG AT TINUBU

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Bashir, el-Rufai’s son, aimed not-so-subtle digs at Tinubu, stating that nobody is too big to be voted out of office.

El-Rufai’s son said the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) cannot save anyone from electoral loss.

“I didn’t call names o, but due to their guilt, they already know who is being spoken about. Wallahi, none of you will force anyone to support this utter failure of governance disguised as useless, dangerous ethnocentric political strategy,” Bashir wrote.
