Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, has increased the number of recently-appointed special assistants from 28,000 to 50,000.
Kelvin Ebiri, special assistant to the governor on media, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
He also said the appointments take immediate effect.
The statement, however, still did not specify what the job of the various advisers.

Wike had, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of 28,000 persons as special assistants for polling units in the state.
The governor also approved the sum of N1 billion as an emergency relief measure to support flood victims in the state.
On Tuesday, the Rivers governor appointed 14,000 advisers for various political units in the state.

The governor had also appointed 319 ward liaison officers and 40 LGA liaison officers.
He had also said the special advisers will play a “pivotal role” in his administration.
Also, on Wednesday, Wike had set up a six-member taskforce to coordinate the distribution of the relief materials to affected communities in Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGAs of the state.
