Ezekwesili donates $10,000 Swedish prize to Chibok girls

Obiageli Ezekwesili, former minister of education, has donated $10, 000 to the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.

The funds were the prize money of an award conferred on her by the Swedish queen, Silvia Renate, for her efforts in championing the cause of disadvantaged children.

Announcing the gesture on Twitter, she wrote: “Swedish C-10 award was conferred on me and nine others who advocate for child rights around the world. I donated the prize money to the Chibok girls.”

It is expected that the prize money, which is part of funds generated for the Chibok cause, will be used for the rehabilitation of the schoolgirls.
