Manchester United’s Amad Diallo scored the winner in the final minute of extra-time to seal a 4-3 win over Liverpool in their FA Cup quarter-final clash at Old Trafford Stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils went from being on the brink of elimination to winning it at the end of extra-time.
Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliot were Liverpool’s goalscorers, with Scott McTominay, Antony, Marcus Rashford all on target before Ivory Coast’s Diallo served the final act in an entertaining and dramatic encounter.
United started the game the brighter side and took the lead when McTominay pounced on a rebound to slot home on 10 minutes. The hosts had chances to double the advantage but could not capitalize and the visitors made them pay before the end of the half. A deflected Mac Allister shot levelled the match on 44 minutes before Salah’s shot put Liverpool ahead at the break.

Liverpool had chances to put the game to bed but it was Man United that forced extra-time through Antony’s 89th-minute strike into the bottom corner.
Both sides exchanged three goals in extra-time; Elliot putting Liverpool ahead with a deflected strike from 25 yards but Rashford levelled again before Diallo won it on the counter on 120 minutes.
The young Ivoirian was sent off afterwards for a second booking for taking off his shirt in celebrations.

The win sealed Man United’s record of not losing at home to Liverpool in the FA Cup, while it also ended the quadruple dream for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Earlier, Chelsea defeated ten-man Leicester City 4-2 to reach the last four stage, thanks to two goals in added time.
