Fadeyi foundation partners police in fight against corruption

Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, and the management of Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF), are set to unveil a citizen-led advocacy against corruption in the country.

In a statement on Monday, Akin Fadeyi, executive director of the foundation, said this would reaffirm the commitment of the police to stemming the tide of corruption in the country.

He said this would also improve transparency and accountability within the force.

“We are excited to seeing the partnership between us and the police come to a grand point,” the statement read.

“To us this is not just a launch, but a strong signal to all Nigerians and the international community that our police, more than any other time in the nation’s history is fully committed to international policing best practices.”

Fadeyi said the event would be hosted by the inspector-general of police as the key note address would be delivered by Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation.

He said event would also serve as the official premier of the corruption ‘Not in My Country Police Anti-Corruption Advocacy Drama Skits’, produced with support from the EU-Funded UNDP/UNODC programme.
