The Justice Aderemi Annual Lecture Series (JAALS) will hold its 6th edition at the Aare Afe Babalola Bar Centre on July 12 in Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Tolu Aderemi, director of JAALS, said the lecture will discuss the value of Nigeria’s bicameral legislature and its impact on development.
He added that the recommendations will be presented to the federal government.
The event is scheduled to begin by 10am, with Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo, as special guest of honour.

The statement also said Kayode Fayemi, ex-governor of Ekiti, will deliver the keynote address on the theme: ‘Bicameralism and Good Governance: An Oxymoron?’
JAALS is an annual lecture series aimed at celebrating the legacy of Olayiwola Aderemi, the late revered jurist.
“Lateef Fagbemi, attorney general of the federation will serve as the chairman at the event, Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, will be a special guest of honour and Iyabo Yerima, chief judge of Oyo, will be the chief host at the event,” the statement reads.

“Chief Adeniyi Akintola SAN will chair the reactor panel, with the speaker of Ekiti state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, the special adviser to Oyo State governor on security, CP Fatai Owoseni (Rtd), a foremost legal practitioner, Mrs Titi Akinlawon, SAN and the immediate past chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ibadan Branch, as panelists.”
The statement added that the event is expected to draw a diverse audience, including legal professionals, private sector representatives, and the public.
“The annual lecture is organised to provide a platform for the convergence of minds towards ensuring good governance in Nigeria,” the statement said.
