The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says the public must be careful of fake recruitment websites as it is currently not recruiting.

The bureau’s management gave the warning in a statement on Wednesday.

The bureau asked the public, especially jobseekers, to disregard any online recruitment portal or job offers that may falsely claim association with it.

The agency also directed the public to report such platforms to the appropriate law enforcement organisations.

The NBS further asked the public to remain cautious of any job offer, particularly one obtained online.

“The attention of the management of NBS has been drawn to an online publication titled “NBS recruitment 2023/2024 job application form portal, ” the statement reads.

“It is hosted https://recruitmentfile.net/nbs-recruitment/, on purporting that the bureau will soon commence recruitment exercise, and advising prospective candidates on the process for the recruitment.

“The general public may wish to note that the publication did not emanate from the bureau and that the content seeks to mislead unsuspecting jobseekers. It has therefore become imperative to refute the information.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the bureau would like to emphasise unequivocally that it is not currently recruiting.”
