Goals from Gloria Ofoegbu and Francisca Ordega gave the Super Falcons a 2-0 win over host Namibia in their Africa Women’s Championship clash at the Sam Nujoma stadium.
Before this game, Falcons had already booked a semi-final place after bagging the maximum points against Ivory Coast and Zambia.
But it wasn’t a stroll in the park for Falcons, as the host fluffed the chance to go ahead in the 11th when Zenatha Coleman’s effort was wide off target from close range.
At the other end, Perpetua Nkwocha also failed to take her chance to give the Falcons the lead in the 21st minute, failing to beat the Namibian goalkeeper inside the box.

The Edwin Okon tutored side eventually took the lead in the 36th minute, thanks to Ofoegbu’s free-kick and they doubled the lead a minute later, as Ordega showed great composure to round the goalkeeper and finish from a tight angle.
Nkwocha missed another scoring opportunity just before halftime, failing to steer her header on target from six-yards out.
Ngozi Okobi should have increased the tally for the Falcons midway in the second half but could only drag her effort wide.

In the 73rd minute, Nkwocha missed another chance of finally having her name on the score sheet as the Namibian goalkeeper saved her goal bound header.
The crossbar denied Okobi a goal in the 77th minute, as her effort from 25-yards beat the keeper but not the bar.
Ibubeleye Whyte in goal for Nigeria was on hand to deal with the few chances Namibia had to reduce the tally.
She got a yellow for time wasting but Nigeria held on to record their third win of the championship.
