The Super Falcons defeated Mali 6-0 in their first game at the ongoing African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).
With four goals, Arsenal Ladies striker, Asisat Oshoala, was the star of the match.
Further goals from Francisca Ordega and Uchechi Sunday worsened the plight of the Malian squad, and proved that they are defending champions.
The goal rush started in the 22nd minute after Francisca Ordega side footed defender Ugo Njoku’s cross to the back of the net.

Latching on an intelligent pass from Osas Igbinovia, Oshoala made the goals two in the 41st minute.
The onslaught continued in the second half when Sunday aimed from the penalty spot in the 48th minute.
With Halimatu Ayinde dictating the pace from the middle, Falcons increased their lead when Arsenal striker scored her second goal of the match in the 64th minute.

She completed her hat-trick in the 69th minute, before making it four goals for herself, and six for the team at 12 minutes to the end of the game.
The victory put the Nigerian ladies in good position to progress to the next round, although with matches against Ghana and Kenya, remaining in the group.
