‘He lived a good life’ — Hosa Okunbo’s family speaks on his demise

The family of Hosa Okunbo, chairman of Ocean Marine Solution Limited, says the business magnate who died after battling pancreatic cancer lived a good life.

Okunbo died aged 63 in the early hours of Sunday at a clinic in London, UK.

The Edo-born businessman was said to have been diagnosed with cancer last September.

He became prominent and gained admiration for his philanthropic activities that touched many people, especially people of his state.

Samuel Ajayi, the deceased’s media consultant, quoted Tinyan Okunbo, the family’s patriarch, as saying “we do not mourn like those who have no hope”.

The family said Okunbo is now basking in the glory of the Almighty, adding that he lived a life of service and dedication to humanity.

“We do not mourn like those that have no hope, and we take solace in the fact that he lived a good life and he has gone to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,” the statement reads.

The Okunbos pleaded with the public to allow the family of the deceased “grief in privacy”.

The family added that further announcements would be communicated at a later date.
