Fani-Kayode: NIA DG did not spend a kobo on Jonathan’s campaign

Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, says ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign was not funded by Ayo Oke, suspended director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Fani-Kayode said this after Deji Adeyanju, former director, new media of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleged that campaign funds were shared and diverted during the 2015 presidential election.

There were reports that the monies discovered in a Lagos apartment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were pa.rt of funds for the campaign.

Fani-Kayode had earlier said that the apartment in which the money was found belongs to Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transportation.

But Fani-Kayode tweeted on Monday that such reports were aimed at rubbishing and destroying the NIA DG.

The former minister, who was the spokesman of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign organisation, said such attempts will fail because Oke “did not spend a kobo on Jonathan’s campaign”
