Fashola to move Apapa tank farms to Lekki world-class plant

Babatunde Fashola, governor of Lagos state, on Friday revealed plans of his administration to relocate all tank farms in Apapa to a “world-class industrial and petrochemical plant” in Lekki.

Fashola made the disclosure during the campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Apapa local government area.

He said that the relocation would make Apapa become the commercial, residential and industrial hub that it used to be.

“You do not need 3,000 tankers to come to Apapa and move fuel supply to the whole of Nigeria,” he said.

“We will be able to supply the country from the Lagos refinery that we have.

“Once the refinery in Lekki is built, we will move all the tank farms out to a world-class petrochemical plant that I have designed for you.”

The governor also said that he had signed an agreement to build a Shoprite mall in Festac, saying those for Isolo and Ikorodu were also on the way.

The governor said for continuity of good governance in the state, the residents should vote for Akinwunmi Ambode, the party’s governorship candidate, in the February 28 election.

“Ambode will continue with all these plans so that life can return back to Apapa and the entire state,” he said.

“Vote for continuity in Lagos; it is too big to gamble with; it is too strategic to Nigeria, Africa and indeed the entire world.”

He commended residents for their trust and support, saying their votes would not be taken for granted.

Earlier, Ambode said that the state had enjoyed steady growth and development and it was necessary to continue with the tradition of excellence, which the party was known for.

He promised to address the traffic gridlock on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway if given the opportunity to serve.

“The only way you can address this is to vote for APC; we must continue with the tradition of excellence,” he said.
