Fatai Adams, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, is dead.
Adams died at a private hospital in Akure, the Ondo state capital, in the early hours of Wednesday “after a brief illness”.
In a statement, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, Ondo PDP spokesperson, said the party condoled with the family of the deceased.
Peretei said the party has declared a three-day mourning period over the death of Adams.

“His transition at this trying time of the party is not only sad but traumatic,” the spokesperson said.
“The state working committee (SWC) of the party has declared a three-day mourning period. Party flags are to fly at half mast and all party secretariats shut for the period across the state.”
In January 2024, Adams was suspended by the party’s SWC over alleged anti-party activities.
