The father of Jude Oguejiofor, a former candidate for the house of representatives in Anambra, has slumped and died, after learning that gunmen had killed his son.
TheCable understands that Oguejiofor and his brother, a medical doctor, were ambushed and abducted on their way to see their parents on Sunday.
The medical doctor was released later. However, while family members were making efforts to bargain for Oguejiofor’s release, the kidnappers disclosed his demise.
“The gunmen contacted the family on Thursday to inform them that they had killed Oguejiofor. On hearing that, the father slumped and died,” a source said.

The gunmen reportedly expressed dismay that Oguejiofor had been writing petitions against them to the Anambra state government.
Oguejiofor, a lawyer, had contested for the Ihiala federal house of representatives seat in the 2023 general election, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
