Kayode Fayemi Kayode Fayemi

Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti state, has urged Muslims to show love and empathy to the less fortunate during the holy month of Ramadan.

The former governor also appealed to Muslims to draw closer to God and to pray for the nation to overcome its myriad challenges during their fast.

In a statement by Ahmad Sajoh, his head of media office, Fayemi said the fact that Ramadan coincides with Christian Lent this year has great significance and shows how the two religions share a dedication for self-control and spiritual devotion.

He said that Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drinks, but also a time for spiritual growth, self-discipline, and empathy.

“The true essence of Ramadan lies in the values of sacrifice, humility, gratitude, compassion, and awareness of our duties to our Creator and humanity,” he said.

“As our Muslim brothers and sisters embark on this spiritual journey, may these virtues strengthen their faith and inspire them to be examples of peace, justice, and service to our country.

“As we embark on this journey of spiritual renewal and self-improvement, let us pray that the blessings of Ramadan bring hope, healing, and transformation to our lives and our nation.”
