Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has alleged that the lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state house of assembly, who are currently plotting to oust him, previously pledged loyalty to him after he won the June 21, 2014 election in the state.
Fayose said he even reached a deal with them to remove Adewale Omirin, the speaker of the APC faction of the assembly, claiming that the perception that the public has about the actual situation of things in the state, is wrong.
He said he was in the best position to present the true picture in the state.
“As soon as I won my elections, most of them (APC lawmakers) started pledging loyalty to me,” he said during an interview on Channels Television.

“Fourteen of the 26 pledged loyalty to me and let me tell you with all due respect, I was looking after them, they were in touch with me and I did the needful.
“As a leader, you don’t come to the public domain to say some things, but the 14 of them were fully in touch with me. We were working hand-in-hand. What you say to the public is what the public seems to be talking about, what about the political undercurrents?
“At the point when they wanted to defect, I knew I had just one PDP member, and as a former governor, I knew the implications of that, so I did my duties and they chose to play ball.

“We were to remove the speaker, their own speaker. I wanted just 10 of them, so I projected 14. If I had 10 on my side, talking about impeachment would be impossible, because they won’t even have the majority.”
