Fayose appoints aides, striking workers resume work

Few hours after his inauguration into office as governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has announced his first set of appointments.

The civil servants in the state, who have been on strike for two months strike, also called off their strike in solidarity with the governor.

During the inauguration ceremony, Fayose disclosed that he would appoint an aide on stomach infrastructure to prove that he was not moved by the attempt to ridicule the people of the state, who were said to have voted for him based on his donation of food items.

To match his words with action, Fayose named Sunday Omosilade as his special assistant on special duties and stomach infrastructure and also appointed Modupe Alade as secretary to the state government.

Idowu Adelusi, was appointed as chief press secretary and Owoseni Ajayi special assistant on legal matters.

Others are Kayode Oso, special assistant on works and infrastructure; Sola Owoeye, special assistant on protocol; and Sola Olowookere, personal assistant to the governor (Abuja).

Sunday Anifowose is special assistant on domestic matters, while Lere Olayinka is special assistant on information and social media.

The statement said all appointments were with immediate effect.
