Fayose asks EFCC officials to read John 8 vs 7

Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, went spiritual on Thursday, asking officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to read a portion of the Bible.

Fayose has been engaged in war of words with the anti-graft agency since Monday when his personal account at Zenith Bank was frozen.

“I want to refer the APC, the Zenith Bank and the EFCC to John chapter 8 verses 6-7, which says, ‘This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. When they continued asking him, he lifted up himself and said unto them, he that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone,” the governor said in a statement issued on his behalf by Idowu Adelusi, his spokesman.

“Let those who are orchestrating this know that failure awaits them.”

Denying the allegation that the office of the national security adviser (NSA) provided funds for his election, Fayose reiterated his earlier claim that Zenith Bank was his major sponsor.

He challenged the bank to debunk his claim, threatening to embark on “my second stage of revelations”.

“I stand with my claim that Zenith Bank Plc majorly funded my election in June 2014,” he said.

“I don’t expect an organisation like Zenith Bank to stay in a corner in matter of national concern like this and be talking.

“Rather, I expect the Zenith Bank to issue an official statement not as feeble as this one being peddled in the media so that I can begin the second stage of my revelations.

“My statement was made in the open and if I can accuse an institution like Zenith Bank in the open, I expect the institution to give official reply.”

  1. Bishop Ayo, your bible reference means nothing but admission of guilt. The response of Jesus that she should go and stop sinning means, though guilty as alleged, but I wont allow the mob to carry out the sentence of the law, am extending prerogative of mercy to you, but don’t do it again.

    1. I couldn’t agree with Izzy more on this deep and well-thoughtful response to this clown call Gov. Fayose.
If I may add, this goes on to say: Show me what you brag about and I will show you what you lack. However, admittance of guilt,if this is really is, may not be accepted by the EFCC. Firstly, the number one citizen must show a good example to the people of his State and Nigeria. He must respect the law by accepting that he,Fayose, indeed has a case to answer because immunity does not cover him being investigated. He shall enjoy the luxury of the rule of law though that he’s innocent until proven guilty. This is a case of The People Of Nigeria v. Fayose. Not exclusively Buhari or APC v. Fayose.

  2. what fayose means by jn 8:7 is that buhari, efcc and d rest are also quilty of corruption as they are accusing him.

  3. Your comment..fayose is a tout and unchained dog is not a Christian when he was false fully given the mandate he promised that all Ekiti allocation belong to Jesus, but unknowingly he was referring to him self as Jesus of his family not Ekiti. He must face the second part of life just like an ordinary man, because humunity does not born with any man .
