Fayose lifts curfew on Ado-Ekiti

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has lifted the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on May 21, following the tension that emanated in the town after a clash erupted between Hausa traders and drivers.

Fayose said that the state government lifted the curfew after security agents had restored peace in the state.

He described the crisis that led to the imposition of the curfew as unfortunate, urging residents to be law abiding and conduct their activities in manner that would not cause further break down of law and order.

He also expressed regret for the inconveniences the curfew might have caused.
