A female lecturer of the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has been found dead.
The lecturer, identified as Funmilola Adefolalu, teaches the institution’s biochemistry department.
Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson of the Niger state police command, confirmed her death to TheCable on Sunday night.
Abiodun said the lecturer was found lying in a pool of blood at her residence in the Gbaiko area of Minna.

He said the case is still being investigated.
The police PRO said two knives with blood stains suspected to have been used to stab her were found at the scene.
“On 29/10/2023 at about 10:00hrs, some friends of one Dr. Mrs. Funmilola Adefolalu, a lecturer at FUT Minna visited her residence in the Gbaiko area of Minna due to her inability to reach her phone,” Abiodun said.

“Unfortunately, on getting to the house, the visitors met her lying in a pool of blood with marks of injury on her body.
“Two knives with blood stains suspected to have been used to stab her by unknown person(s) were recovered from the scene.
“The body was taken to IBB Hospital, Minna where she was confirmed dead.”
The FUT Minna case comes as the latest in a series of violent crimes targeting public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
