A female suicide bomber struck at a popular market in Wagir, Gujba local government area of Yobe state on Tuesday, killing 10 persons.
Hussani Ibrahim, a driver, who claimed to have assisted 23 injured victims to a hospital in Damaturu, capital of the state, told Reuters that incident occurred around 11am.
“I saw the suicide bomber, a small girl of not more than 12 years. I counted over 10 people that were dead,” he said.
Gubja is one of the towns that the military recovered from Boko Haram insurgents earlier in the year.

Tuesday’s incident comes exactly a day after 22 persons were killed also in a market in Borno state.
This is about the third attack in Yobe since President Muhammadu Buhari took over the reins of government about three weeks ago.
Buhari has promised to tackle insurgency head-on. At a meeting with all the 36 states governors earlier in the day, the president promised to render special assistance to the states affected by insurgency.
