Three days after multiple bomb attacks rocked Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, a suspected female suicide bomber killed at least 12 people at Monday market, still in Maiduguri, on Tuesday.
Abdulaziz Olawale, who witnessed the incident, said the attack happened around 4pm.
“The place was very busy. Many people were waiting to pick up taxis and some were walking down the road when the blast occurred,” he told Reuters.
The market, which is one of the largest in the town, has recorded repeated attacks from the Boko Haram sect.

Meanwhile, the insurgents killed more than 10 people in Ngamdu, a community situated 100 km east of Maiduguri, also on Tuesday.
A security source said the casualties and wounded were mainly bus and truck drivers, with about six drivers dead, while five people were being treated for serious injuries.
Since 2009 when the militants launched their campaign of violence, the state has been the worst hit.
