After weeks of respite, Potiskum, one of the largest towns in Yobe state, came under attack from suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Monday afternoon.
A security source, who confirmed the attack to TheCable, said the incident happened around 2:00pm
“The attackers targetted a mosque in Potiskum during the 2:00 clock prayer,” he said. “But they could not succeed as only three people were injured. Normalcy has been restored and people are going about their duty.”
The town experienced multiple attacks from suspected insurgents much earlier in 2015.

On February 1, six people lost their lives during a suicide attack in the town.
Nine others died when a nine-year-old suicide bomber targeted the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) Market in the town.
Two days after this, 15 people were killed at the Tashar Dan-Borno motor park within the town, during another suicide attack.
