FG donates assistive devices to PWDs in Rivers

The federal government has donated some assistive devices to People With Disabilities (PWDs) to  ease their access to public infrastructure. 

The donation was made during the first edition of the Niger Delta disability praise festival in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Mohammed Isa, senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on special needs and equal opportunities, who distributed the items on behalf of the federal government, said the praise festival has given PWDs the opportunity to showcase their abilities through music, comedy, drama and different kinds of artistic works.

The presidential aide said the festival is more than entertainment because it also focuses on the challenges affecting PWDs.

Isa added that the president is ready to promote the rights of PWDs and improve their conditions.

The festival is the first edition in the region. It was organised by Tizis events with the view to harnessing the abilities of PWDs.
