The federal government has ordered more fuel tankers into the federal capital territory (FCT) in order to end the lingering fuel scarcity in the nation’s capital.
Danladi Kifasi, head of the civil service of the federation, disclosed this in a circular made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
“We have directed that more fuel trucks move into Abuja, so the queues will soon disappear to make things easy for all,” the circular read.
Commenting on the change in government, Kifasi admonished civil servants to be up and doing, directing all heads of ministries, department and agencies (MDAs) to enforce disciplinary action.

“Changes in government have not affected who is practicing in Nigeria,” he said.
“Government is working, the president has directed that we upped our game, that is we must increase our productivity and that is exactly what we are going to do.
“I have observed with regrets that staff in MDAS have formed the habit of coming to work later than the official approved office hours. Civil servants should keep 8am – 4pm working hours, erring officers will definitely face the consequences of any bridge.”

Kifasi also addressed the complaints of some contractors on delay of approved payments, saying: “Payment is normally approved by accounting officers in this case permanent secretaries.
“The ministers don’t approve contracts but the ministerial tenders board chaired by permanent secretary and if it’s beyond them it goes to federal executive council. The ministers only sign the memos, it is important this is clarified.”
