Oti Ovrawah, executive secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), says Nigeria needs to step up in its effort to uphold social justice, development and the advancement of human rights.
Ovrawah said this in a statement signed by Fatima Mohammed, the chief press officer of the commission, in commemoration of the 2017 international day for social justice.
The international day for social justice is when the world focuses on the protection of vulnerable groups in the society including persons living with disabilities.
Ovrawah said Nigeria needs to ensure an enabling environment for the promotion and protection of human rights. and get justice for victims of administrative injustice.

She said it was imperative to get justice for victims of administrative injustice.
She advocated for policies and programmes to alleviate the plight of internally displaced persons and people living with disability in Nigeria.
Ovrawah asked Nigerians to join in the commemoration of the day of social justice by being responsible citizens and supporting policies that promote security.
