Nigeria will reject the precondition given by Boko Haram for the release of the 276 girls in their captivity, Interior Minister Abba Moro has hinted.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had said his detained “brethren” should be freed by the federal government in exchange for the freedom of the girls whose plight has drawn global attention.
Moro was asked by the AFP if the government would reject the suggestion, and he was quoted as saying “of course”.
“The issue in question is not about Boko Haram… giving conditions,” he said.
