The federal government says 108 irregular Nigerian migrants who were stranded in Niger Republic have been repatriated.
In a statement on Tuesday, Alexander Oturu, south-west zonal coordinator of the National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), said there were infants among those repatriated.
Oturu said the evacuation was facilitated by the Nigerian Mission in Niamey and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
He said the repatriated Nigerians include 32 males, 29 females, 44 children and three infants.

“In line with Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the returnees will be integrated into various government programmes, as well as the reintegration programmes of the UN Migration Agency.”
