Final-year student of Adekunle Ajasin varsity found dead at off-campus church

A final-year female student of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo state has been found dead.

The student, identified as Ayandare Modupe, was found dead on Monday morning in the Akungba community, Akoko south LGA of the state.

Modupe was a 500-level student of agronomy in the faculty of agriculture.

TheCable understands that the lifeless body of Modupe was found hanging beside an off-campus church she attended.

Leadership reports that Noble Olaogbebikan, a spokesperson of AAUA’s students’ union government (SUG), confirmed the incident.

Olaogbebikan was quoted as saying that the deceased was found dead around 4 am on Monday in a “white garment church” clothe.

The students’ spokesperson said the deceased was suspected of having committed suicide after attending a vigil service.

Olaogbebikan said all hands are on deck to unravel the cause of Modupe’s death.

“The law enforcement agency has been informed already, and all hands are on deck to get to the root of the situation,” he said.

“Justice will be served, and the law enforcement agency will do a thorough investigation.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state police’s spokesperson, also confirmed the incident.

Odunlami-Omisanya said the police in Ondo are working to ascertain the cause of the death of the final-year student.
