Ahmadu Fintiri, governor of Adamawa, has approved the appointment of Awwal Tukur as the secretary to the state government (SSG).
In a statement on Wednesday, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri’s chief press secretary, said the governor also appointed Edgar Amos as chief of staff of the government house.
Wonosikou said the appointments took effect immediately.
“Following the appointment of Amos who before now was the head of the civil service, Shehu Ardo takes over as head of the civil service. The appointments take immediate effect,’’ the statement reads.

Tukur was a member of the house of representatives.
During the last elections, he served as the director-general of the Adamawa presidential and gubernatorial campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
