Fire breaks out at accountant-general’s office in Abuja

There is a fire outbreak at the Treasury House, a building housing the office of the accountant-general of the federation (AGF).

The building is located on Samuel Ladoke Akintola boulevard at Garki 2 area of the federal capital territory (FCT).

TheCable learnt the fire started on the second floor of the building and gutted parts of the AGF’s office on Wednesday.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Men of the federal fire service who were later joined by staff of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are trying to put out the fire.

“Update: The fire at the Accountant General’s Office has been extinguished,” the fire service tweeted.

No statement has been put out by the authorities on the level of damage caused by the fire incident.
