Fire guts petrochemical factory in Lagos 

Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service have responded to a fire outbreak at a petrochemical plant in Lagos.

The fire incident occurred in Mega Plastic in the Ilupeju area of the state.

Adeseye Margaret, director of the state fire service, said the emergency alert was received at 07:26 am on Saturday.

She said operatives of the service from Bolade and Alausa fire stations swiftly took control of the situation.

She added that no lives were lost and no one sustained injury from the outbreak. She also disclosed that the storage and factory sections of the petrochemical company were badly affected. 

On September 21, five shops and the Hotel Ibis Royale along airport road, Ajao estate in Isolo, were razed by fire.

Four days ago, the service rescued two people from another fire incident that occurred at Victory Bay, Ikota housing estate in the Ajah area of the state.

The service had reported that the two male adults rescued sustained varying degrees of burns.
