There was a fire outbreak at a branch of Access Bank in Adetokunbo Ademola street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos on Wednesday morning.
The incident was said to have happened while a truck was discharging fuel within the bank premises around 10:30am.
The fire from the tanker marked AKD 637 XP reportedly consumed a car with registration number AKD 234 FA parked within the bank premises.
In a tweet, the bank confirmed the development saying no fatality was recorded.

It said fire protocols have been activated and personnel have been moved to safety.
“There has been a fire incident at our Adetokunbo Ademola branch this morning. Thankfully, no one was harmed,” it read
“Our fire protocol has been activated and all personnel have been moved to safety. Cause of the fire was a diesel truck discharging fuel, we advise you to avoid that area.”

The bank identified alternative point of operations as branches in Adeola Odeku, Muri Okunola Branch, Ajose Adeogun, all in Victoria Island.
The Lagos State Management Traffic Authority (LASTMA), in a tweet, said a combined intervention of the emergency responders including LASEMA Response Team, Eko Hotel, LASG fire, UBA Fire Service prevented the inferno from escalating further.
The emergency responders are currently at the scene to quell the fire.
